Brayford Waterfront Trail
Follow the Brayford Waterfront Trail to find out why the Brayford and its waterways have been so important to Lincoln through the centuries. For lots of information and other things to do and see in Lincoln, take a look at the Welcome boards situated by the entrance to the Lucy Tower Street Car Park or in front of The Shed on the University campus.
A series of signs and interpretation boards to help to guide and tell visitors about Lincoln's Brayford Waterfront area. The original Signage and Visitor Management Group felt that the Brayford Waterfront warranted separate identification as a destination for visitors.
The name "Waterfront" was chosen in preference to Wharf or Pool as it gives a more dynamic impression and a better guide to first time visitors as to what to expect at the Brayford Waterfront.
There are two main arrival boards for the area, one by Lucy Tower Street Car Park, and one at the University outside The Shed.
There are seven interpretation boards situated around the Brayford area and they are located in the following places:
- Seating area opposite Royal William IV
- Brayford Wharf North near Courtyard by Marriott hotel
- Near the Horse and Groom pub
- Top of Brayford Way Bridge
- On decking outside University Main Building
- East end of University drive, University side of River Witham Bridge
- Brayford Wharf East near swan roosting area
There are also finger posts a-n situated around the Brayford area.
